GRADING SYSTEM & CONVERSION OF PERCENTAGE GRADE(S):

The courses shall be evaluated through a grading system in place of conventional marking system. Each semester course shall be evaluated on the basis of SGPA (Semester Grade Point Average) and the cumulative SGPA of VI Semester will become the CGPA of a student for purpose of award of Degree.

The following illustrations could be taken as an example for computing SGPA and CGPA from percentage to credits degree Program courses degree Program courses in Humanities and Social Sciences.

Percentage to Grades and Grade Points

The following formula may be used to convert marks (%) into letter grades.

  1. A student obtaining Grade F shall be considered failed and will be required to reappear in the examination.
  2. For non-credit courses 'Satisfactory' or "Unsatisfactory' shall be indicated instead of the letter grade and this will not be counted for the computation of SGPA/CGPA. 
  3. The Grade Letter "D" corresponding to Grade Point "4" shall be the minimum requirement to pass in a course.
  4. Transcript (Format): Based on the above recommendations on Letter grades, grade points and SGPA and CCPA transcript for each semester shall be available on the University Website immediately after the declaration of the result and a consolidated transcript indicating the performance in all semesters shall be issued by the university after the declaration of the final result
